Happy Independence Day to a Great Nation!!

July 4, 1776 marks the historic day when 13 #Colonies ( Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Virginia, Maryland, Connecticut, New Jersey, Georgia , North Carolina, South Carolina, Delaware,  New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New York) adopted the Declaration of Independence declaring independence from Great Britain.

Thomas Jefferson was the main author of the #Declaration of #Independence.

John Hancock was the only one who signed the document on July 4. The last of the 56 signed it on August 2, 1776.

New York was the last state to officially join when George #Washington on behalf of New York Signed it on July 9 when New York joined the rest of 12 colonies .

Thomas Paine’s stirring pamphlet “ Common Sense” distributed in January 1776 was the first document explaining to the common people the importance of Independence and played a pivotal role according to John Adams .

Richard Henry Lee from Virginia on June 7, 1776 presented a resolution in Continental Congress that was instrumental in the drafting of the Declaration Of Independence .

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams were the three signers who became Presidents Of #USA .

US Population was 2.5 million in 1776.

7 of the 56 signers Of Declaration Of Independence were #Harvard Graduates.
