If my cholesterol and triglycerides levels are off-target, what can I do ?

If your numbers are not on target, you can take these steps :

1. Work with a dietician to develop your own meal plan.

2. Use less oil, butter, margarine, and other fats when cooking.

3. Choose low-fat dairy products.

4. Eat small servings of meat, fish, and poultry.

5. Eat more fruits and vegetables.

6. Choose whole-grain breads and cereals.

7. Try to exercise for 30 minutes at least five times in a week.

8. Follow your physician's instructions for taking medicine.

9. If you smoke, get help to quit.
